Sirca is headed by digital curation expert Julie Goforth. In addition to Julie’s expertise in digital cultural heritage, Sirca leverages the talent of Goforth Scientific including experts in web development, machine learning, data analytics, databases, and security.
We are experienced with processing large amounts of digital files (including audio/visual media), metadata, long term preservation, and access. Most importantly, we understand the principles of responsible digital stewardship.
Julie has worked on digital curation projects with the Smithsonian Institution Archives, the Library of Congress, and the Edwin Washington Project. She has developed websites for Oatlands Historic House & Gardens, the Waterford Foundation and the Edwin Washington Project, among others. Julie is also an experienced graphic designer.
Julie’s vision for Sirca is to bridge the gap between the resources needed to run sophisticated (and expensive) digital programs and smaller organizations that have valuable collections but lack the resources available to large organizations.
